Philosophy of Care
Our Philosophy is to assure and enhance a resident's quality of life We understand that coming into residential care is a big decision and it is our aim to make the process as smooth as possible for our residents, their relatives and friends. Providing a safe and structured environment, whereby a person may reside with dignity, purpose and comfort.
Assess, implement and review appropriate individual personal care, on a needs basis.
Focusing on the wellbeing of the resident, be it spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional or social.
To liaise with families/friends of the resident, offering advice, support and counselling, when required to whomever concerned, but most of all the resident.
To liaise and utilise the professional services when required, as with GP, District Nurse, Community Psychiatric Nurse, Dentist, Optician, Chiropodist, Continence Advisor, Aroma therapist/Reflexologist and other specialists.
Culture awareness to be afforded at all times, maintaining compassion respect and acknowledgement regarding the resident's customs and traditions.
Active participation within Ridgemede House is nurtured as much as possible to promote an increase in self- esteem and productivity.
We aim for excellence and show compassion, love, and kindness to our residents so that they really feel that they are at home.
